Mare and Foal Care
A unique situation for anyone interested in breeding and raising their own prospect without the long term commitment of owning a brood mare: Old McLaughlin Farm is offering four very nice broodmares and on farm mare care at an affordable price. If you've ever dreamed of raising a foal, here is an opportunity to choose a mare and a sire and make your dream a reality. You pay board of mare from booking through weaning, stallion fees and vet bills. We take care of all vet visits, foaling, and initial handling of foal. You pick up the foal when it is ready to be weaned. We have a lovely selection of proven broodmares to choose from, so if you are looking for a top level event horse, a nice hunt horse type, a spectacular paint, or a fantastic sport Mogan, we have the mare for you.

North Star, "Honey", Trakehner/Oldenburg, bay.

North Star, Trakehner, approved Oldenburg mare book, winning Preliminary event horse. This big, beautiful mover has a huge jump and lots of heart. She has a phenomenal yearling filly by Aberjack destined to be a top-level event horse. She is a rare opportunity to create your next big star!

Sugar on Snow, "Sally", Thoroughbred/Clydesdale, deep chestnut with blaze and socks.

Sugar on Snow, Thoroughbred/Clydesdale, Sally has evented and fox hunted successfully. You will never meet a sweeter, braver, lovelier horse. Her good movement and a nice jump combine with a great mind and good bone. She is a gorgeous deep chestnut with blaze and socks. She just had a lovely palomino filly with four high socks and blaze. For your next hunt horse or eventer Sally is a great choice.

Skylark, Thoroughbred/Quarterhorse, bay and white paint.

Skylark, Thoroughbred/Quarterhorse, bay and white paint, has beautiful markings and a lovely conformation which have been passed down to both her foals. Bred to a paint and also to a solid color Connemara, both foals were paints. Her Thoroughbred conformation makes her ideal to breed to either a warmblood or a smaller breed. If you want a fancy sporthorse with a high likelihood of color, Sky is your choice.

Olive Oyl, "Babe", registered Morgan, liver chestnut.

Olive Oyl, “Babe”, registered Morgan, liver chestnut, is an athletic mare with good movement and a good jump. She has lots of energy and an eager attitude. Babe’s first foal, Oliver, is now a three year old and is exceptional. He has looks, temperament and ability to make him a super star. If Oliver is any indication, Babe is the mare for someone looking for a beautiful, smaller sport horse.
