Hitching Post Farm 2026 Competitions

Hitching Post Farm offers 2 USEA horse trials and 4-5 schooling horse trials at levels from Starter through Preliminary.  We run our schooling trials by the rules of the USEA, while allowing competitors the opportunity to compete in a low key, friendly and inviting atmosphere. Informal dress.

As a competitor at HPF you never know what improvements or additions you’ll find year to year! In 2021 the dressage arenas and warm up got brand new footing, the Modified XC course was added to the farm and multiple fences were equipped with MIMS technology. HPF is proud to constantly be updating, improving and changing it’s show experience for you.

Level Specifics

Grasshopper- USEA 2026 Starter Test A (formerly known as starter) this is a combined test format offered at our schooling trial events. Walk, trot & canter dressage test with a course of 18" show jumps with 2-3 natural obstacles at 18" or less. If entries warrant a 2’ division can be added.

Starter- USEA 2026 Starter Test A (formerly known as elementary) 8-10 xc jumps up to 2’3” and may include water, 8-10 2’ to 2'3" SJ course including verticals and oxers. Starter will run as a recognized division in our USEA competitions.

Beginner Novice: USEA 2026 BN Test A, up to 15 xc jumps no higher than 2'7" can include ditch. 8-10 jump SJ course no higher than 2'7" can include 2 stride combination.

Novice: USEA 2026 Novice Test A, up to 18 xc jumps no higher than 3'. 8-10 jump SJ course no higher than 3'.

Training: USEA 2026 Training Test A, up to 20 xc jumps no higher than 3'3". 10-12 jump SJ course, no higher than 3'3" and can include a triple.

Modified: USEA 2026 Modified Test A, up to 22 xc jumps no higher than 3’5”. 10-12 jump SJ course no higher than 3’5” and can include a triple.

Note: dressage tests are the same for both USEA Horse Trials and Schooling Trials
